Chinese President Xi Jinping's special envoy Zheng Jianbang Saturday attended the inauguration ceremony of Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita in the country's capital Bamako.
The attendance of Zheng, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, was at the invitation of President Keita.
Celebrations commemorating the 58th anniversary of Mali's independence were also held at the ceremony.
Keita met with Zheng on Saturday evening.
Zheng conveyed Xi's sincere congratulations and good wishes to Keita, saying that China is willing to work with Mali to implement achievements of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Beijing Summit, and to enhance cooperation in areas including political exchanges, economic and society development, and security, to carry forward the bilateral traditional friendly and cooperative relations to a new level and to benefit both countries and peoples.
Keita said that Mali highly appreciates Xi's Belt and Road Initiative and the idea of a community with a shared future for humanity, wishing to strengthen cooperation with China to push forward bilateral relations. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20180924...
