Archeologists on Tuesday found the ironclad structure, the most important hull structure of the warship Jingyuan sunk by the Japanese navy during the Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895).
Being underwater and overturned, the ironclad walls flanking the warship remain relatively intact. These walls have a three-layer structure with the outermost layer being double ironclad. Thickness of ironclad walls varies at different positions, and the entire structure is about 50 centimeters thick, having a good resistance of external forces.
