A community in Indonesia has nearly been wiped off the map due to a phenomenon known as soil liquefaction following a devastating earthquake and tsunami in Central Sulawesi province on September 28.
Indonesian officials say more than 1,900 were killed by the recent earthquake and tsunami.
Balaroa, one of the worst hit by the double disaster, has seen torrents of "liquid soil" washing away and swallowing buildings. Hundreds of houses were seen sinking about 10 meters underground, leaving some 1000 people still missing.
The community, once home to 3,000 households, is now scattered with collapsed power poles, damaged roads as well as collapsed houses. There is also widespread power failure in the community.
