Peak Pegasus, a cargo ship that was loaded with 70,000 tons of soybeans from the United States and failed to clear customs before China slapped retaliatory tariffs on U.S. imports, finally docked in the Chinese port of Dalian at midnight on Sunday.
Departing from the U.S. in June, the ship reached a port in Dalian on July 6th, after China imposed 25 percent tariffs on U.S. soybeans in retaliation against Trump's first round of tariffs on 34 billion U.S. dollars worth of Chinese goods. But it circled off the Chinese coast for over a month due to limited warehouse capacity.
